|I began my university life in Leeds in September 2002. After all, this was my fist time to leave my parents, so I missed everything in China. However, we need to solve lots of things after we arrived England, such as registration of Police Office, opening a new account, registration of universities etc. We are lucky, because we got help from last year's students. I really appreciated their help. |
Before I studied in England, I had heard that there were lots of differences of university lives between China and Britain. After being three months university student in Leeds, I intensely realized those differences. In my opinion, the key difference is cooperation. In Chinese universities, students do not have many chances to communicate with others. Students should finish all works by themselves. Contrarily, in British universities, teachers emphasis on the cooperation among students. For instance, in one of my subjects, Foundations of Management, students are divided into several groups. Group members need to discuss and work together. The final reports of each group will calculate into final results. I get huge benefit from the cooperation: I learned how to get along with others, how to express my own opinions, how to accept criticism etc.
In brief, I think I will get lots of experience in three years' life in England. Of course, I will treasure this chance.
