社团介绍:


数学社是以数学为主题的一个学术社团,主要的活动分为数学建模和数学竞赛两大部分。数学建模部分由请来的中大软件工程系本科生老师指导,每周进行两小时的授课,费用由社员共同承担;竞赛部分主要以社员们定期开会讨论问题的形式进行。数学社活动内容虽然与一些比赛相关,但目的不是拿奖,而是给热爱数学的同学们一个开扩知识和视野,共同学习数学的平台。因此,本社也会举办一些开放给所有同学的数学讲座,希望让大家都能感受并享受数学之美。


HFI Math Club is an academic club centered around various math topics, most notably nathematical modelling and mathematical competitions. Math modelling will be taught for 2 hours a week by an undergraduate student from sun-yat-sen University, and club members will hold meetings regularly to discuss topics in mathematical competitions. Although the Math Club is oriented in a way to competitions, what matters is never the result, but the learning process, in which math-lovers gather to broaden their horizons in math topics that are not typically told by school. For this purpose, we will hold lectures open to all HFI students in the hope of exposing them to the beauty of mathematics.

一、前期活动

活动1:8.27校外导师线上讲座-himcm建模比赛

时间:8月27日

地点:线上会议Zoom

内容:邀请校外老师介绍11月的himcm建模比赛,介绍比赛报名、内容等基本信息以及如何进行准备。

Time: August 27th ,2018

Place:  Online (Zoom Meeting)

Content: we invited instructor outside the school to give an introductory lecture on the HiMCM mathematical modeling competition, which takes place in November. The lecture included information respecting how to sign up and related mathematical topics, as well as what students could do to get prepared.



活动2:9.6招新宣讲会 + 竞赛选拔

时间:9月6日

内容:详细介绍社团新学年活动计划,包括A (AP自学资料+夏校)、B(数学竞赛)、C(数学论文分享)三大类型活动。随后对有意向报名参加AMC竞赛及培训的同学进行选拔,时长15分钟,选拔试题来自历届AMC10以及AMC12真题,共5道。


Activity 2: Recruiting new members

Content: A detailed overview of Math Club’s activity plan, divided into three categories, respectively A (self-study AP + summer program selection), B (math competitions), and C (academic papers). Afterwards, new club members who intend to participate in competitions are given a selection test, based on real problems from AMC 10 and AMC 12 over the last several years.





活动3:公布最终社团人员名单

二、竞赛部讲座

活动4: 额外讲座第一讲:高联加试几何题讲解

时间:9月12日

地点:602教室

内容:在本次额外讲座里,我们解决了2018年高中数学联赛加试的2道几何题和1道代数题。额外讲座的内容比主要讲座要难很多,我们会讲一些更难的比赛,像CHSML(中国高中生数学联赛),CMO,USAMO,TSTs和IMO或者一些数学领域里更深的题目。额外讲座所有人都可以来听,不是强制性的。

Activity 4: Extra Lecture 1: CHSML second-round problems

Content: In Extra Lecture 1, we solved 2 geometry problems and 1 algebra problem in Second Round of CHSML. Extra Lectures are much harder and more advanced than high school math or AMC, and we discuss advanced competitions like CHSML, CMO (China top 200), USAMO (US top 250), and even IMO (International Math Olympiad) or advanced topic in mathematics area. Everyone can feel free to come and discuss.





活动5:AMC主要讲座第一讲

内容:AMC主要讲座是为了AMC&AIME竞赛备考而举办的,要求所有竞赛部的社员参加,并且会进行考勤以确保社员出勤率。主要讲座1的内容是几何和三角学,涉及三角函数、四点共圆等知识点。讲义由数学社核心社员整理,按照难度划分等级。主讲人范雨辰在本次讲座中解决了讲义中几道最重点的AMC10和AMC12的中的问题。这个学年里, 社团计划举行7次主要讲座和4次额外讲座

Activity 5: Main Lecture 1

Time: 2017.09.18

Content: AMC's main lectures are held for the preparation of the AMC & AIME competition. All members of the competition department are required to attend and attendance is recorded. The main Lecture 1 is about geometry and trigonometry, including trigonometric functions, four points sharing circle and so on. The lecture handout is organized by the core members of the Math Club and problems are categorized based on difficulty level. Lecturer Frank Fan talked about the most important questions in AMC10 and AMC12 during the lecture with detailed illustration of the geometric diagrams.

2017-2018学年社团活动:


数学社上半学期进行了多次活动,主要包括数学建模学习,数学竞赛活动,高二同学向高一同学教授数学内容等。

Math Club has held lots of activities in the first half of semester, including mathematical modelling classes, math contest seminars, and math concept seminars held by Y11 students.


其中数学建模由中大大三学生指导进行,共进行了六节课,由老师教授一个半小时的建模方法,同学们收获颇多。数学竞赛由邓同祥同学主持展开,两周一次活动,介绍竞赛基本概念与技巧,并就美国AMC比赛中高级别题目积极讨论,许多同学在讨论后都自己研究出解决题目的新方法,会在微信群中分享给大家。林子泓同学自制讲义,给高一社员普及了微积分的内容。赵天宸同学以高级微积分的学习经验为基础,也给大家讲了一次线性代数的基本内容。

Mathematical modelling is instructed by a student of Sun-Yat-Sun University, who taught for one and a half hour each week about useful methods in mathematical modelling, in which club members learnt a number of novel applications of math. Math contest discussion is held by Franklin Deng every two weeks, introducing basic concepts and techniques. Club members discuss based medium or advanced level problems on AMC contest. Some innovative club members can come up with new and elegant solutions to a problem after each discussion, and they will post their original ideas on Wechat for others to share and discuss. Schrieffer designed his own handout to instruct y10 students basic concepts of Calculus. Jason, too, held a lecture on the elementary knowledge of Linear Algebra.

在这些活动中,数学建模和竞赛参与度较高,每次大约有10-20人,而给高一同学上的课参与度较低,只有5-10人。使数学的学习讨论显得更加有趣以吸引更多的人参加,也许是数学社下一步需要关注的问题。

Among these activities, Math modelling and contest are most attended, usually with 10-20 students present. However, math concept lectures in Calculus and Linear Algebra only attracted 5-10 members. It is important for Math Club to figure out a way to make math more accessible and funny to appeal to a larger audience

2017年12月:

由于12月是期末考阶段,数学社的活动有所减少。


1. 12月13日

陈海兰老师夫妇联合数学社,开展了一次关于数学之美的讲座。



陈老师从几位数学家的名言谈起,陆续向同学们展示了对称数、无8数、金字塔数等各种具有神奇性质的数。当老师让同学们猜测一个看似普通的数的性质时,同学们议论纷纷,和老师谈笑风生,场面欢乐而热闹。


讲座接着进入了幻方的主题。虽说许多同学都可能在小学奥数中接触过幻方,但大家都不了解它的实际意义。陈老师对幻方的各种应用婉婉道来,还用动画展示了简单但强大的奇数阶、偶数阶幻方的填充方法。数字在方格间飞跃,转瞬间就形成了一个横、竖、对角线之和都相等的幻方;陈老师没有给出这填充方法背后的原理——好奇的同学们自会去探索发现。



在这之后,陈老师继续介绍所谓“黑洞数”,“自恋性数“背后的奥秘。数学之美中最经典的话题——黄金分割比,也被老师从建筑、绘画、人体等各方面剖析。陈老师以她儿子朗读数学诗的声音结束了她的讲座,而小孩子稚嫩的声音也萌化了所有人。


紧接着,陈老师的先生对著名搜索算法——pagerank算法进行了简要的介绍。如果说陈老师的讲座是抽象意义上的数学之美,她先生则把这种美具像化了。老师先生自身就从事数学建模,搜索引擎相关的工作,讲起来自然是如鱼得水。虽说许多高一的同学还没有接触过pagerank算法的主要实现手段——矩阵,陈老师先生生动的语言简明地道出了这个算法通过网页间互相访问的通道排名网页的机制。看似难以量化的繁多网站,就通过访问通道这个标准和数学工具被建立起了排名,数学之美,之强大不言自明。

讲座内容:本次讲座围绕AMC10/12中的几何类问题展开,以学生自编的讲义中的题目为内容。AMC中的几何题通常难度不大,涉及的知识点范围比国内的高中数学竞赛小,但是由于答题时间有限,难道略高的几何题如果不能利用简洁的解法进行解答则可能会影响做题速度乃至完成情况。本次讲座的主讲人Tony针对近年来AMC中极具挑战性的几何题进行讲解,以思路为主线对题目进行拆分,将个人的做题经验通过讲解题目解答进行分享,并且尽量避免了耗时又易出错的硬解思路。
