  • Q : What is HFI’s teacher to student ratio? How many students are in each class?

    A :

    HFI has, on average, seven students for every teacher in the HFI. Average Class Size:15-30.

  • Q : How does my child apply for admission to HFI?

    A :

    Candidates will be required to fill out an application form, submit recommendations and school records, take required tests, and visit the campus for an interview and assessment.

  • Q : What qualifications does my child have to meet to be admitted to HFI?

    A :

    Admission determination will be made by HFI through a variety of means, including a review of official school records, standardized assessments, and other evaluative procedures. We are looking for students who bring unique qualities to their grade at the HFI, and who distinguish themselves through their potential, their academic record, and their performance on the various components of our admission process.

  • Q : Does HFI admit local Chinese national students? What is the ratio of local Chinese national students to foreign nationals?

    A :

    HFI was founded with Chinese students in mind, but we also recognize the advantages of a diverse student body to enhance global awareness and understanding in all our students and faculty. The majority of our students are Chinese, though we plan to increase recruitment of foreign nationals to represent a healthy portion of our student body.

  • Q : Is there an application fee?

    A :

    Our application fee is 500RMB (non-refundable). Applications will not be processed until the application fee or waiver has been received.

  • Q : What is the first day of school for the 2023-2024 school year?

    A :

  • Q : Where do HFI students usually go after graduating? Do students take the university entrance exam or apply for universities abroad? Can they apply for universities and colleges in China?

    A :

    HFI students will be prepared to consider top English-speaking universities in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia. Students in AP program have been successfully admitted by the top universities worldwide, including Princeton University, Yale University, Stanford University, Chicago University, University of Cambridge, University of Oxford, University of Sydney, University of Toronto etc., with over 93% of the students admitted by the top 50 universities, 71% the top 30 universities and colleges and 20% the top 20 universities in the United States.

    HFI will support students through the steps of the application process, and serve as a site for required university-entrance exams.
