Kinsey Wang – a Cornell University Offer Receiver – with His Mother Shared Their Application Experience

On February 12, 2023, an HFI senior student Kinsey, who had just been accepted by Cornell university during the Early Decision application season, along with his mother participated in a lecture in the third-floor conference hall of AoXiang building to share their past experiences and opinions on study and education, as well as how they prepared for and finally succeeded in university application.

Before the lecture started, the conference hall was full of parents and students. The seats in the hall were all taken, and some parents even stood to hear the talk. In the two-hour-long lecture, Kinsey first introduced his school experience. After graduating from a middle school in Guangzhou, he came to HFI in the year of 2020. Kinsey talked about his academic performance in school and his previous activities that were used in his application. After Kinsey made his introduction, his mother shared her opinion on the education of children, how they finally chose HFI, and how they prepared for university applications. Finally, she expressed her praise for the school and her thanks to the teachers and other parents at HFI.

The lecture was over, and the audience burst into applause in the conference hall to thank Kinsey and his mother for sharing such valuable experiences. The sharing provided a lot of useful information about the academic and study life at HFI, providing middle school students a preview of the HFI life to help them determine their high school. The information on university applications is also important in the way that it helps eleventh grade students, and their parents better prepare for the application season, which is coming in half a year.

Every year our school invites upper-class men to give information sessions and share experiences with their younger peers. Not only does this provide useful information regarding the application process for the parents and students, but it is also a prolonged tradition that symbolizes HFI’s legacy. This legacy will continue from class to class, and it is in the end, what shapes the HFI spirit.
