Introduction

Mathematical Modeling Club
|
Our
club focuses on helping students learn the knowledge about mathematical
modeling and apply it to the practice through lectures, related courses and
discussions. This also helps students gain the ability to do teamwork. We
will organize students to take part in the High School Mathematical Contest
in Modeling (HiMCM) and other mathematical modeling competitions and give
them some guidances. We will also cooperate with other clubs in some
mathematical modeling projects.

3D
modeling club dedicates to learn the usage of 3D software named Solidworks
and tries to build many different kinds of models on the computer. We
intended to design our own products and print it out through 3D printing
machine. Nowadays, 3D modeling involves in numerous fields, such as medical
devices, tooling design, toys design, mechanical engineering, electric
engineering, material engineering and rockets and cars design etc. Three
dimensional modeling is an indispensible part in many fields and our club
really wants to recruit people who are curious for 3D modeling to learn and
discuss.

ACG Club

HFI
ACG Club is a student-run school club where students interested in Anime,
Manga, and Games come together and form their small community. There are
approximately thirty active members in the club, all allocated in different
sections that focus on drawing, music, model, commentary, and other subjects
related to anime, manga, and games. ACG club holds activities related to the
member’s interests while the club also cooperates with other clubs
occasionally. The club aims at helping the club members effectively combine
their academic life with their interests in anime/manga/games, helping them
develop their knowledge in the aforementioned areas into more useful and
possibly professional skills.

We
are a group of aspiring teenagers with zealous and sincere hearts, helping
others selflessly. Despite the tradition donation of books to the remote
areas, we also furthers our plan: we will cooperate with other clubs in HFI,
including U Library’s recycling of text books, donating books in rewards of
cuisine clubs’ little cakes and donating the profits’ of Fashionists post
cards. What’s more, we will also contact near hospital or recovering center
to help those children with infantile autism, and we will hold environmental
lecture. All in all, we dedicate our vigor to things that are helpful and
meaningful to our society.

Street Dance Crew was established in 2011 and is the one of the oldest clubs
in our school. Our crew focuses on street dance. Now we have developed a
mature system, including several departments of Hiphop, Locking, Jazz,
Breaking, and Kpop. We intend to offer a chance for students who love
street-dance to show their ability and meet like-minded people. At the same
time, we believe that we can prosper street dance performance and pop culture
in our campus and community. We participate actively in all important events
in our school, such as VOICE, Christmas Show, and the International Day.
Also, most of green hands get a huge development after one-year training in
S.A.KIE.

TED×HFI
is a warm-hearted team, the members of which are all active thinkers with
thousands of amazing ideas. We built this platform to exchange knowledge,
share experience, and stimulate thoughts collision. In the past year, we held
a lot of high-quality TEDx talks, included talks related to the Big Data,
LGBT, Russian literature, critical thinking, electronic sports, the unique
experience of cycling across Vietnam, and so on. Our audience and speakers
together explored various exciting new areas and thought-provoking topics
which they may have not thought of before in these speeches.

URTeacher

URTeacher
devotes to improve the sharing of knowledge outside classes in HFI. We
provide a platform for open classes to club members who want to share their
experience and knowledge without constraints on the topics and formats. At
the same time, other club members provide the speaker with support in
advertising, organizing, promoting and giving feedback on the open classes.
Established in September 2015, URTeacher has successfully organized many open
classes that not only help club members build up their influence and show
their interests but also help non-members who attend those classes gain
useful or interesting knowledge.

VOICE

VOICE
Club is the official school magazine publisher in HFI. Publishing two issues
per year, VOICE Magazine records coverage of recent school and club
activities, and interviews the talented teachers and students. It also
contains film and music reviews and other types of articles written by
students. VOICE is an honored campus magazine greatly recognized by students,
teachers and parents. Members of the VOICE Club are responsible for the whole
process, from the initial palnning to the final publication. What’s more, VOICE recruits eight to ten new members every year,
the process of which is highly selective. However, those who passed the
assessment may still be eliminated from the club if they are lack of
responsibilities and abilities.

Cat. Advocacy. Team.(C.A.T)

HFI
Cat Advocacy Team (A,K.A. C.A.T.) , based on the principle of community
service, devote ourselves to providing foods, shelters, and necessary medical
care for stray cats in the neighborhood. Meanwhile, C.A.T. plays the role of
intermediate for stray cats, looking for suitable foster families for them.
The heart of C.A.T. is cats, but we never deviate ourselves from people. We
take creating the harmony between
people and cats as one of our missions while we certainly feel sincerely
thrilled seeing more and more students begin to love cats in HFI. As an
entirely student-operated club, our major financial sources are annual
charity fair and donation from students, faculty, and society. C.A.T.’s major
public platform is our WeChat official account, including information of
foster announcement, activities notifications, fun stories of cats, etc.
Since the establishment of C.A.T. in 2013, the club continues to enlarge and
enrich. Looking into the future, we hope for
old and new members of C.A.T. working together and enriching each
other towards our goals and missions.

HFI Programming

HFI
Programming is the most tech-oriented club, because we believe technology can
challenge the status quo most drastically. Creating the HFI information
sharing platform NoticeBoard, adding the live comment system to the Christmas
party, providing the used books sale system, and assisting in improving the
school network, HFI Programming never worships technology but devotes to
improve HFIers’ life quality by its strength. We are not mad coders, but life
hackers. “Talk is cheap, show me the code.”

Debate Club

HFI
Debate Club is the only debate organization in HFI, with experience of
holding the 2014 and 2015 HFI Public Forum Debate Competition and the 2016
HFI interscholastic Public Forum Debate Competition. Every year, HFI Debate
Club sends out several teams to attend the NHSDLC Public Forum Debate
Competition all over China. HFI Debate Team focuses on international and
social hotspots as debate topics, such as patent, military intervention,
carbon tax, urbanization and so on.

Geography Club

We
study Geography. Our researching subjects include hydrology, landscapes,
weather, which mostly encompass everything about Earth. Our club is
definitely a serious and academic club.

the Movie Club

This
movie club is a place where students and teachers alike can gather together
to reflect and critique on some of the greatest movies ever made! Starting
off, we are holding a movie marathon of a variety of movies from a plethora
of genres. Following this, a short movie contest will be held encouraging all
students to write a script and shoot whatever they want, whether it be a
documentary or a stop-motion animation. The underlying academic gain of
participating in a movie club is the opportunity for students to improve
their ability in analysis and listening. Specifically, students will gain a
more advanced comprehension and understanding of how different individuals of
different backgrounds respond to plot development, character motivations,
narrative techniques, different genres, and other stylistic elements by cross
referencing questionnaires and movie reviews in group

founded by Tingyi Zhou in 2012, November. At its second year, 2013, the club
merged with HFI Economic Club, bringing more active members into the case. It
now has an experienced instructing teacher from HFI Academic Department—Mr.
Wilson, and contains 40 students from different grades in HFI. Department—Mr.

holds intramural activities for all the students in HFI and organizes

Mad Scientists

Mad
Scientists is one of the oldest clubs in our school, but one of clubs which
have most members. MS has good reputation among many students and teachers in
past few years. In the new school term, MS will hold the lectures (lectures
will cover many subjects like chemistry, physics, biology, math, IT, etc).
Presidents will try to make contact with people who take responsibility for
labs from other university to get the opportunity to hold experiment. All in
all, MS will hold everything which relate to science.

established because our fondness of Magic. Magic is an art, but many people
don’t have the chance to appreciate it. Magic club provides the opportunity
for students to learn about the art, and share the wonder of magic with
people.

HFIPhotos

HFIPHOTOS,
one of the most active clubs in HFI, consists of numerous photograph lovers.
HFIPHOTOS organizes photograph activities for at least five times a year and
provides club members with photography lessons. What’s more, HFIPHOTOS is the
sponsor of the Guangdong Middle School Photograph Tournament and has
successfully held up two tournaments in 2015 and 2016. HFIPHOTOS is not only
a club for members to learn and practice photograph skills, but also a stage
for them to broaden horizons, improve organization skills, and receive
invaluable experiences.

club tries to offer a platform to help the students to process a deeper
conversation and discussion about biology and provide variety of out-school
activities to increase students’ interest in biology. The club focuses mainly
on the lecture held by professionals and students while takes out-door
activities as supplements. During the process, instead of restraining the
knowledge within the class, we want to increase students’ cognizance about
biology through conversing with professionals, enrich the after-school life
and improve hands-on skills via activities.

Fashionists
club is a student-run club in the International Department of The Affiliated
High School of the South China Normal University. There are currently 30
members in the club. Fashionists club was found in August 2015. The club
mainly focuses on fashion, specifically designing clothes, creating
accessories, and organizing fashion shows. The club aims at deepening
students’ understanding of fashion and offers a platform for those who love
design and fashion.

HFI Astronomy Association

HFI Astronomy Association--home for amateur
astronomers in HFI. HAA regularly posts celestial phenomenon forecasts,
observation tricks and club activities on the Wechat Public Platform, and
irregularly holds lectures on related topics in school. Before the provincial
and national astronomy Olympiad in November and March, we offer study groups
to help members achieve what they aim for. In addition, during great
astronomical events like meteor shower or lunar eclipse, we will hold
observation activities, either on campus or off campus, with Hua Fu Astronomy
Association and other local astronomy unions. Our goal is to help everyone
recognize the splendor of night sky despite being overwhelmed by artificial
light of downtown Guangzhou.

BADMINTON CLUB intends to provide a stage for badminton lovers to practice,
meet friends with the same interest and organize badminton competitions. From
2014 to present, we’ve hold many activities include “Guangdong Province
Interscholastic Badminton Tournament” and several intramural badminton games.
We believe our club can work as a unity to spread the spirits of badminton
and essence of sports to the more and more people.

school year, EAC is trying to run a new charity program with other schools.
This program can not only build a better connection between schools but also

TV is a club which aims to record our campus life, and brings pleasure to all
HFI teachers and students to help them relax from their everyday busy work.
Our major activities include the followings: 1. Interview with HFI teachers
from unique and intriguing perspectives (videos of the interview will be
uploaded onto social media including Tencent, Youtube, etc.); 2. Production
of the propaganda film for HFI; 3. Recording videos of activities of
different clubs in HFI; 4. Recording videos of large-scale school activities
in HFI (e.g. The Voice, the X-mas Party, the Halloween Party, International
Day, etc.).

Bazar seek to breaks barriers between lovers of different music school, to
invite music listener to unexplored realm of music, to provide them
opportunity to share their favorites, and to create a community of music
lover who share and appreciate music together.

A Cappella club

Cappella club is a club which focuses on vocal music for performing as
multiple instruments. People who like singing or would like to improving
singing skills are expected to enter out club. By finding out problems of the
singing skills of club members in normal rehearsal, we will put much effort
on improving them. Normally we participate in some activities in school as
special performer, and we hope we can gain the opportunity to perform or
compete outside of school.

The main activity of our club
|
The
main activity of our club is to practice "The Roots"
family investigation project. This project is an activity to investigate the
history of a single family or a small community by interviewing, videotaping,
voice recording and organizing different information. Our team has already
had gathered information and presented to different communities for a
year. The main purpose of our club is to imprint the memory about their own
family history and cultural history in Chinese teenagers' minds, even if most
of our members tend to go abroad to seek higher education. We hope that our
generation would not hold their cultural pride, their "roots,"
wherever they go in the future.

Kungfu club

As
the representative traditional Chinese culture, Kungfu is worth for students
to learn. Kungfu club now has been found for three years. It was established
in 2013 by Zoela, who was graduated in 2015. Kungfu is the best way for
students to exercise their body and cultivate a healthy life style. Every
week, students can learn the basic knowledge about Chinese Kungfu in order
that they can spread the traditional culture effectively. In order to create
an efficient way to study and comprehend the Kungfu, we invite a famous coach
– Zhangyi, who is the founder of Kungfu institution of Guangzhou Sport
university, mastering every kind of Chinese Kungfu. Under his instruction,
our previous members have already mastered spear, Tai Chi, boxing and so on.

HFI MUN is mainly responsible for the organization of MUN activities in HFI,
including lectures and model MUN conference. We hope through our activities,
students interested in MUN, public relations and social science can have a
chance to express their opinions and distinguish themselves from the crowd.
While holding MUN activities, the MUN club will also combine various topics
and forms of activity, enhancing its diversity and digging up the true
essence of MUN activity.

club shows the enthusiasm that we have in cooking and shares our happiness to
everyone. It has two position— selling
and cooking. We will sell our
home-made food every Monday and teach our members how to make delicious
desserts.

FIND

F.I.N.D.
Club focuses on inquiring into the heated issues in the society and topics
relevant to campus life. In this year, the club members will divide the
investigative process into four parts—researching on the topic investigated,
investigating the issue by different means, doing statistics and analyzing
the data, and publishing the result. The first part requires every club
member to do research on the topic that we will investigate and thus have a
broad understanding of the issue. The second part requires members to use
choose the optimal method among different investigative means to carry out an
investigation on the issue. The third part practices students’ ability to do
statistics, analyze the data, and find the answer to the question proposed at
first; students can also gain an insight into this issue after analyzing the
statistical result. The fourth part is to publish our results on WeChat; we
may also write the investigative report in English, depending on the members’
ability. Throughout the whole investigative process, members have chance to
practice different abilities and accumulate valuable experience.

American Football Club

AFC
(American Football Club) is a sport club set up by Zhehao Yang in 2013. All
the members in the club compose an American Football team named Crows. Inside
the school, we hammer at the expansion and dissemination of American
Football, the popularization of American sports culture, and the enrichment
of students' extracurricular life. Also, to promote the communication between
teachers and students, we are lucky to invite Mr.Wilson and Mr.Bell to take
part in our inner competition and give us instruction. Outside the school,
Crows has joint the Guangzhou American Football Association(GAFA), organizing
and participating in inter-school competitions with Hengfu High School,
Guangdong Experimental High School, No.7 High School and so on. We believe
that Crows will be stronger in many aspects with the participation of new
players.

U Library club is student-run club in the International Department of the
Affiliated High School of South China Normal University. Originally, the club
was founded by Hongru Luo in 2011, November.U Library holds annual activities
for all the students in HFI and organizes activities outside the school with
other primary schools in Guangdong. Students are responsible for organizing
all the activities.
Club objectives
- HFI U Library club aims to help HFI students to build and manage a public
library, as well as the annual book sale, provide students with varied kinds
of books such as textbook, test practice books, fiction novels, etc.
Additionally, other kinds of services and activities are held regularly for
all the HFI students.

HFI Robotics

HFI
Robotics club is founded by members of the school’s robotics competition
team. However, different to the competitive nature of robotics team , HFI
robotics club aims to provide a platform for robot lovers to learn and
explore the field of robotics together. Therefore, all students, including
those who are not part of the team, are welcomed to join the club. Club
activities will be organized around the goal of exploring the field of
robotics. One of the activities we are organizing is discussion session with
specific topics; Some of the likely topics are using computer-aided designs
in robot designing, applying design cycle in the building robots, and the use
of feedback control loops in controlling robot movements. We could organize
lectures since members of our competition team have plenty knowledge and
experience to share about working on robots. However, we believe there are
also a lot to learn from other robot lovers, and group discussion session
could maximize our learning from each other.

Giver

The purpose of starting Giver Club is to create
a platform where we can interact with the community around us, and give our
help to the society. We hope to make volunteer activities a part of the
students’ lives through the form of this club. From taking part in volunteer
activities to organizing these activities ourselves, we hope to exercise the
creativity and leadership of our club members. There are many ways to help
others and give back to the society around us. The activities can be as
simple as walking a few steps to the neighborhood and picking up the trash,
or as significant as travelling hundreds of miles by car to teach in remote
areas. The opportunity to help is all around us. Sometimes, a few friends
with the same interest is all you need to add pleasure to your volunteering
life.

Artificial
intelligence, which has developed rapidly in recent years, is promoting
the revolution of information technology and has become the new field
for the future global economic governance.
HFI artificial intelligence club is committed to reunion the
students who share interest in artificial intelligence and enables them to
learn the latest trend of the development of artificial intelligence. Artificial intelligence will change
the lives of modern people enormously, for domains like mobile
intelligent terminals, driverless cars, unmanned aircraft, intelligent
medical diagnostic, intelligent household are inseparable from it.
It is a typical subject of STEM(Science Technology Engineering Math) education and a combination of many subjects such as
science, engineering, technology and math. HFI artificial
intelligence club aims to promote students' interests in the field
of STEM and capacities such as team spirit, leadership and problem
solving skills through mutual understanding, learning, and participating
in the activities related to artificial intelligence. AI club is an
innovative group in which students can learn programming, design,
engineering, speech and image recognition technology, participate in
some scientific projects of artificial intelligence.

OXA

OXA club is an
orchestra the offers a platform for all students who love playing musical
instruments. We can help students to process a deeper conversation with not
only the members of the orchestra, but also with music itself. The main
activities of our club involves practice once a week, attend performance at
school, and also take part in a variety of out-school activities. During the
process, we can not only practice cooperation, but also increase students’
understanding about music through conversing with members in the orchestra.

Observation and Study

SOS focuses on
organizing students who are interested in social science to do research, show
themselves and make friends with the ones who have felt the same
responsibility for the society as well. We mainly focus on: environmental
stewardship, economic development, globalization, social equality, education,
arts and culture, technology, health and safe. By encouraging HFI students to
step out of their daily-life, think about the big picture and ask the right
questions, HTB hopes to inspire participants to come up with innovative and
actionable local solutions for global problems.

This
team emphasizes student autonomy, with assistance from the college counseling
department.1. College Reception. As exemplars of HFI students, members serve
as school ambassadors and guide visiting officers from overseas colleges and
universities. 2. Campus tour guide. Members design campus tours and introduce
the school to prospective students and parents. 3.. College info sharing. To
promote the general student body’s interest and understanding of global
universities, team members deliver effective information and guidance on
different types of universities. The team serves as the connecting bridge
between universities and HFI.
