In 2024, the meaningful year of the 20th anniversary of HFI, we encountered a series of “Joyful Journey Together” Alumni Reunion activities. On 23rd November, the first Greater Bay Area alumni reunion of HFI was successfully held in triumph. This meeting is not only a valuable reunion time for alumni, but also marks the official establishment of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Alumni Chapter, and signifies the increasing influence HFI will make in regional education and social services.

This alumni reunion event attracted more than 120 alumni and guests. Within them, there were numerous outstanding representatives of various fields. During the meeting, alumni, teachers, and guests had in-depth communication with each other, enjoying the warm and friendly atmosphere. Ms.Shi Xiaohui, one of the guests as well as the Deputy Secretary General of the HFI Alumni Association, suggested that from the bottom of her heart, she could feel the great passion from everyone and the pleasant vibe filling with the fire of enthusiasm in the meeting. Ms. Li Jiaying, the Acting President of the Great Bay Area Alumni Association and HFI 2015 alumna, emphasized in her speech that this meeting was a manifestation of “gathering people, gathering resources, and gathering wisdom,” aiming to support the well-rounded development in terms of career and life of alumni through enhancing the network connection between HFI alumni.

In the opening speech, President Zhu Zhidong of HFI presented the latest progress of the HFI Global Alumni Association and Alumni Data Platform. He reviewed the growth and development of HFI in the past 20 years and introduced the future development plan of HFI as well as some relative information to alumni. Through the sharing, Zhu not only demonstrated the school's development dynamics but also deepened alumni's understanding and support for the future direction of HFI.

It’s worth mentioning that guests from all walks of life present excellent lectures, introducing their experiences from a variety of careers and their wisdom of life.

Ms. Dulan, Chairwoman of Guangdong Aine Intelligent Technology Co., gave a lecture on her successful experiences in the AI technology field and her public health running program in full swing. She called on HFI students to “make the greatest effort in pursuing the purest dream during the most beautiful times.” Followed by Mr. Chen Yang, Chairman of Guangzhou Xuanyuan Investment Management Co., Ltd., and Mr. Lin Ziyao, Chairman of SAIF Asset Management Hong Kong Co. They advised on personal growth and illustrated the important meaning of the alumni association. What’s more, they participated in deep discussions with alumni after their impressive lectures. Then, Mr. Su Daoyi, Chairman of Guangdong Mankewei Communication Technology Co., Ltd., and Mr. Yang Xiaoguang, President of Zeiss Optical China, expressed their career insights in the brick and mortar industry as well as their hope on the future development of HFI Alumni Association.

Despite outstanding guests, the diverse developments of alumni are also attractive. Yu Bowen, an HFI 2018 alumna, has been playing his role in Huawei after graduation, advocating himself at the leading edge of communications technology. Recently living in New York City, HFI 2016 alumna Li Kailin specializes in assisting Asian collectors to gain better access to Western art and forms of modern art collections with long-term values. Phyllis, who graduated from HFI in 2018, has been penetrating the field of humanistic research and academically discussing the social and economic issues in the globalization context. Impressively, she chose to come back to HFI as the identity of the Guidance Counselor. To conclude, every alumnus of HFI has made and is making remarkable progress in their academic field.

Thanks to the effort of all staff, guests, alumni, teachers, and volunteers, this alumni reunion meeting has been successfully held in Guangzhou, the birthplace of HFI. Through this meeting, HFI alumni not only rebuilt their relationship with their alma mater but also formed a deep academic and career-based network with the participation of experienced guests.

Maintaining roots in the Great Bay Area, HFI Global Alumni will become an important platform to “serve the alma mater, serve alumni, and serve the society.” Moreover, it will expand its impact and radiate the global, using the Great Bay Area as its core region. It will set a benchmark for other alumni associations to follow, build a bridge for resource flow, and provide a fertile ground for the personal development of HFI students. Let us look forward to more splendor and passionate alumni reunion in the future, and expect the students of HFI to achieve their dreams and burst into glory in their life journeys!
